The relevance of CYSLTR1 gene polymorphism to the severity of allergic rhinitis and clinical responsiveness of montelukast in children

European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Apr 14, 2021

Zhao M, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for analyzing the impact of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of CYSLTR1 gene on the risk of allergic rhinitis (AR) and clinical response to montelukast treatment in children. In total, 135 children with AR and 100 healthy children were involved for subsequent analyses. Between AR and healthy children, genotype and allele distribution of rs321029 SNP of CYSLTR1 gene and inflammatory mediators were detected and compared. The rs321029 polymorphism on the CYSLTR1 gene is not linked to the susceptibility or severity of AR in children, but it is closely related to the efficacy of montelukast on AR.
