Weerahandi H, et al. – The experts undertook this study to investigate the prevalence of psychiatric symptoms and disease over time in ventricular assist devices (VADs) patients. The authors proposed that VADs did not cause serious psychological harms and could have a positive effect on depression and anxiety. Moreover, in this cohort, VADs did not induce post–traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder or acute stress disorder (ASD).
