Peskin M, et al. - Researchers explored the temporal relationship between posttraumatic and depressive symptoms in a randomized trial of D-Cycloserine (DCS) vs placebo augmented virtual reality exposure (VRE) therapy for chronic World Trade Center-related posttraumatic stress disorder following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Findings suggested that VRE mainly lowered posttraumatic symptoms, which in turn led to subsequent reductions in depressive symptoms. It seemed that DCS could augment the strength of these effects.
