The relationship between obesity and body compositions with respect to the timing of puberty in Chongqing adolescents: A cross-sectional study

He F, et al. – This study investigated the correlation of obesity and body compositions with the timing of puberty in boys and girls. In girls, a negative correlation of delayed puberty with obesity, percentage of body fat, fat mass and fat–free mass was observed, along with a positive correlation of delayed puberty with body density, whereas, in boys, delayed puberty was only negatively correlated with obesity, the association between puberty and body compositions was not found.
