The relationship between mitotic rate and depth of invasion in biopsies of malignant melanoma

Ghasemi Basir HR, et al. - The relationship between the depth of invasion of malignant melanoma and its mitotic rate were assessed. In malignant melanoma, the depth of tumor invasion was associated with mitotic activity. Breslow thickness, which was necessary for planning surgical management, could be estimated with the mitotic activity in incisional biopsies where the depth of invasion could not be accurately determined.
