The relationship between kidney function and quality of life among community-dwelling adults varies by age and filtration marker
Clinical Kidney Journal Aug 10, 2017
Canney M, et al. – The association between estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and overall quality of life (QoL) was explored among older adults. For this group of patients, cystatin C but not creatinine eGFR was associated with clinically modest declines in QoL. By age, this relationship varied. This outcome indicated a contribution of a diminished eGFR little to overall QoL beyond middle age in this population.
