Matcham F, et al. - The relationship between depressive symptoms and treatment response and the disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was evaluated in this trial over a 1-year follow-up. The odds of achieving a good treatment response and improvement in disease activity over time could be reduced by experiencing symptoms of depression at the start of biologics treatment. Management of depression ought to be undertaken as a part of routine clinical care for improving the treatment outcomes.
