The regular use of an emollient improves symptoms of atopic dermatitis in children: A randomized controlled study
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology May 25, 2018
Tiplica GS, et al. - Authors evaluated if the regular use of emollients resulted in a reduction in atopic dermatitis (AD) severity in children suffering from it. In this multicentre randomized, parallel group, open-label study, they recruited children with mild-to-moderate during a flare. As per findings, the severity of symptoms was reduced with the regular use of emollients in children with the mild-to-moderate AD, thereby, supporting their use as a first-line treatment for these patients. The percentage of patients at the end of the study, in complete remission (ie without a new flare over the treatment period) was higher in the V0034CR and reference emollient groups vs in the no emollient group.
