Diao W, et al. - In this meta-analysis, PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched to assess the prognostic value of maximum standardized uptake values (SUV_max) measured in the primary lesion and axillary lymph nodes (ALN) by pretreatment fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (¹⁸F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) or positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in patients with breast cancer. Researchers included 15 eligible studies with three thousand, five hundred seventy-four breast cancer patients in this analysis. They reported that patients with high primary SUVmax could experience a higher risk for recurrence or a poor progression. In invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) patients, the SUV_max of ¹⁸F-FDG revealed a significant prognostic value.
