The prognostic value of cytokeratin and sal-like protein 4 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma and intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma in Taiwan
International Journal of Medical Sciences Dec 19, 2018
Lai YS, et al. - In this study, researchers studied to analyze the association of cytokeratin expression with tumor behavior, and cancer stem cells of hepatocellular carcinoma with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma in vivo in Taiwan. They determined cytokeratins and sal-like protein 4 expression in 83 hepatocellular carcinoma and 30 intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma individuals. They conclusively observed the expression of cytokeratin19 was markedly correlated with sal-like protein 4 expression, poor overall and disease-free survival in hepatocellular carcinoma cases and cytokeratin7 expression decreased with absent sal-like protein 4 expression in all 30 intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma cases.
