The prognostic value of C-reactive protein and albumin in patients undergoing resection of colorectal liver metastases: A retrospective cohort study
HPB Nov 19, 2020
Frühling P, Hellberg K, Ejder P, et al. - In patients suffering from colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) and undergoing liver resection, researchers assessed the prognostic worth of preoperatively measured Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS) and modified GPS (mGPS) scores in this retrospective analysis. They included 849 consecutive patients between January 2005 and December 2015. In multivariable analyses following correction for age >70 years and extended resection, GPS 1 and GPS 2 were found to be related to poor overall survival. In patients with CRLM, a preoperative GPS was identified as an independent prognostic factor and seemed to serve as a better prognostic tool compared with mGPS.
