The prognostic value of basal DNA damage level in peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients affected by bladder cancer

Allione A, et al. - The basal DNA damage and DNA repair capacity in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in patients with bladder cancer (BC) were determined. In patients with a shorter survival time, the DNA damage at BC diagnosis was notably higher. DNA damage levels measured in PBMCs of patients with BC could potentially represent a prognostic marker related to poor survival.
