The prognostic role of preoperative circulating neutrophil–lymphocyte ratio in primary bladder cancer patients undergoing radical cystectomy: A meta-analysis
World Journal of Urology Dec 07, 2018
Hu G, et al. - Experts conducted a meta-analysis to better understand the role of preoperative circulating neutrophil–lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in prognosis prediction for primary bladder cancer (BC) patients undergoing radical cystectomy (RC). In primary BC undergoing RC, especially in patients without NAC, an unfavorable outcome is led by the elevated preoperative circulating NLR, implicating that it might be a valuable prognostic index for these patients. They noted a significant impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) on the negative prognostic effect of NLR. Moreover, a significant association of high NLR with unfavorable clinicopathological features of BC was seen.
