Diabetic Medicine Aug 17, 2017
Perrin NE, et al. – The aim of this work was to conduct a systematic review and meta–analysis to determine the overall prevalence of diabetes distress in people with Type 2 diabetes. It was demonstrated that diabetes distress is a prominent issue in people with Type 2 diabetes that is correlated with female gender and comorbid depressive symptoms. It is important to consider the link between diabetes distress and depression, and the significant overlap between conditions. Future study is required to explore psychological comorbidity in Type 2 diabetes to better understand how best to distinguish and appropriately treat individuals.
