Song JQ, et al. - In the present study, the early predictive value of plasma cytokines levels on gastroesophageal anastomotic leakage (GAL) was evaluated in patients undergoing esophagectomy. The results of this study revealed that plasma concentrations of IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10 on the first postoperative day can anticipate clinically important GAL in patients undergoing esophagectomy.
