Tong Y, et al. – This study strived to evaluate the validity of the measurement of pepsinogen as a screening test for chronic atrophic gastritis (AG) in health check–up populations in China. In the identification of patients with atrophic gastritis and severe AG, pepsinogens played an important role. In the diagnosis of AG, use of different cutoff values of pepsinogen (PG) for Helicobacter pylori (Hp)–negative and Hp–positive groups could offer greater efficacy.
