Alzhrani F, et al. - Researchers probed into the outcome and efficacy of cochlear implantation in children with genetic syndromes. Similar levels of auditory perception and speech intelligibility were yielded via cochlear implant recipients with genetic syndromes and their peers with a genetic syndrome. The presence of any of the genetic syndromes did not serve as a contraindication to cochlear implant provision, due to its possible positive impact on the patients’ sensory perception and lifestyle.
