The Nepean Dyspepsia Index is a valid instrument for measuring quality-of-life in functional dyspepsia
European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology Feb 08, 2019
Jones MP, et al. - In an independent population, researchers assessed the validity and reliability of the Nepean Dyspepsia Index (NDI), one of the first disease-specific quality-of-life instruments created for functional dyspepsia (FD), in an a-priori driven approach. They examined construct validity, convergent validity, and internal consistency in 289 people who fulfilled the Rome criteria for FD enrolled in a randomized placebo-controlled trial (FD treatment trial). Findings suggested that the NDI is a valid tool for measuring the impact of FD on quality of life specific to the disease.
