van Lieshout WAM, et al. - Authors gauged the impact of joint line elevation after total knee arthroplasty on outcome. Findings suggested that joint line elevation had a negative association with outcome. Moreover, compared to an elevated joint line group, revision TKAs with a maintained joint line have statistically significant better postoperative KSS scores. Restoration of the joint line is one of the parameters that should be pursued in order to achieve optimal outcome after TKA and the introduced elevation should not exceed 4 mm.
