Urdinez J, Boro A, Mazumdar A, et al. - In the present study, miRNA and mRNA next-generation sequencing of different subtypes of human chondrogenic tumors were performed in combination with in silico bioinformatics tools to identify key molecular factors. miR-143/145 cluster levels were identified to inversely correlate with tumor grade. According to results, a combined in silico/sequencing approach showed FSCN1 as a direct target of miR-143/145, and its depletion phenotypically resembled miR-143/145 upregulation in vitro. The outcomes underline miR-143/145/FSCN1 as significant players in chondrosarcoma, second most frequently diagnosed bone sarcoma after osteosarcoma, and can potentially open new avenues for specific therapeutic intervention options.
