Tolstrup CK, et al. - In this work, vaginal hysterectomy with uterosacral ligament suspension (VH) was compared with the Manchester-Fothergill procedure (MP) for treating pelvic organ prolapse (POP) in the apical compartment. Observations demonstrated the superiority of MP to VH. They recommended preferring MP over VH for surgical treatment of POP in the apical compartment in the absence of any other indication for hysterectomy.
