The lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio as a prognostic indicator in head and neck cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Jun 15, 2018
Tham T, et al. - Authors gauged the association between the pre-treatment lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) and prognosis in head and neck cancer (HNC). In this systematic review and meta-analysis, they searched PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library. In HNC, a raised LMR could be an indicator of favorable prognosis. No detectable heterogeneity, in either overall survival or disease-free survival, was noted. Nonetheless, caution is advised with the interpretation of these results due to the retrospective nature of cohort studies.
