The longitudinal impact of Probiotic and Peanut Oral Immunotherapy (PPOIT) on health related quality of life (HRQL)
Allergy Oct 25, 2017
Galvin AD, et al. - Researchers examined health-related quality of life (HRQL) in association with Probiotic and Peanut Oral Immunotherapy (PPOIT). At 3 months and 12 months after end-of-treatment, the sustained beneficial impact of PPOIT on the psychosocial influence of food allergy was visible. Furthermore, participants well tolerated PPOIT, without exhibiting any negative impact on psychological wellbeing. It was observed that in either PPOIT or placebo groups, there was no association of treatment with reduced HRQL relative to baseline. Furthermore, it was noted that improved HRQL was specifically related to acquisition of sustained unresponsiveness.
