The long-term impact of postoperative pulmonary complications after video-assisted thoracic surgery lobectomy for lung cancer

Wang S, et al. - In this study performed on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who underwent video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) lobectomy, the long-term impacts of major pulmonary complications (MPCs), as well as independent risk factors, were investigated. Findings revealed that MPC after VATS lobectomy was associated with a poorer long-time outcome. Additionally, age, male and American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) grade were identified as independent risk factors for MPCs.
