The influence of Parkinson's disease on lumbar decompression surgery: A retrospective case control study

Westermann L, et al. - Authors, in this retrospective case control study, examined the influence of Parkinson’s disease (PD) specifically on lumbar decompression surgery. Findings revealed a significantly higher rate of perioperative complications in patients with PD undergoing elective decompression surgery. Although a minimal difference in major complication rates was evident, minor complications were encountered more frequently in patients with PD.
