Page JC, et al. – The specialists analyzed the impact of intraoperative testing on surgical decision–making during cochlear implantation (CI). Investigations suggested that during CI in children and adults in straightforward cases (e.g., normal anatomy, nondifficult insertion, etc.), routine intraoperative testing evoked compound action potentials, impedances, and imaging rarely influences surgical decision. Thus, it probably had limited usefulness in these patients.
