The influence of amyloid burden on cognitive decline over 2 years in older adults with subjective cognitive decline: A prospective cohort study
Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Nov 08, 2021
Hong YJ, Park JW, Lee SB, et al. - Findings demonstrate faster memory decline in amyloid-positive subjective cognitive decline (SCD) vs amyloid-negative SCD.
Using data from a prospective cohort study, 47 SCD persons were enrolled to compare cognitive trajectories between amyloid-positive SCD (A+SCD) and amyloid-negative SCD (A−SCD) people, and determine biomarkers linked with memory decline.
Of participants, 31 completed at least 1 annual follow-up (mean follow-up: 24.7 months).
A greater decline in the verbal memory function was experienced by A+SCD subjects vs A−SCD subjects, post-adjustment for age.
Amyloid burden might be related to future memory decline in SCD.
