Andrologia Oct 23, 2021
Slowikowska-Hilczer J, et al. - A suitable first-line therapy for patients with mild idiopathic abnormalities in semen parameters or serum levels of reproductive hormones could be afforded by lifestyle changes supported by intake of herbs with antioxidative and antioestrogenic activity.
This retrospective analysis involved data from 50 men aged 24–52 (median 35.0) with idiopathic abnormalities in semen parameters.
Lifestyle modification and intake of supplement (containing glutathione and herbs with antioxidative and antioestrogenic activity) for three months was advised to patients.
Following three months of intervention, median serum levels of FSH, LH, and testosterone increased by 70%, 67%, and 79%, respectively.
Also, significant increase (total sperm count rose by 68%) was evident in all mean semen parameters.
