The incremental burden of acute respiratory distress syndrome: Long-term follow-up of a population-based nested case-control study

Biehl M, et al. - During this study, experts discerned the long-term survival of patients at similar risk for hospital-acquired acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) who did and did not develop ARDS. Among individuals with similar characteristics at the time of hospital admission, worse long-term survival was reported in patients who developed hospital-acquired ARDS.
