The incidence of urinary tract cancers is related to preserved diuresis: A single-center report

Premuzic V, et al. - This study tested a notion that patients without preserved residual diuresis vs. patients with preserved residual diuresis have a higher risk of renal and urinary tract cancers. In ESRD patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis, higher incidence of urinary tract cancers was found to be related to lost residual diuresis. In addition, it was noted that residual diuresis in these patients might be considered a risk marker for future urinary tract cancers as well as already established markers.
