The incidence of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis and its association with folic acid supplementation during pregnancy: A nested case–control study
Journal of Pediatric Surgery Jun 10, 2018
Rosenthal YS, et al. - Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (IHPS) incidence in Israel in recent years was described and its potential association with folic acid consumption was assessed. All cases (n = 1899) of IHPS occurring between 1999 and 2015 were identified using the electronic medical database of a 2.1 million member health organization in Israel. Similar to other countries, Israel also displayed a decreased IHPS incidence in recent years, however, the decrement cannot be linked with the increased use of folic acid.
