The importance of lymph node ratio for patients with mandibular infiltration of oral squamous cell carcinoma
Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Apr 11, 2018
Safi AF, et al. - Researchers conducted a retrospective chart review to assess the data on the influence of lymph node ratio (LNR) on the prognosis for patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and mandibular infiltration. Compared to the conventional nodal staging system, LNR predicted locoregional recurrence better and therefore might serve as a more precise risk stratification tool. For locoregional recurrence of patients with mandibular infiltration due to OSCC, LNR > 7% led to a 11.419-fold higher risk.
