Findings suggested an association of vancomycin powder with a higher prevalence of gram-negative and polymicrobial organisms in patients that ultimately developed post-operative SSI. Nonetheless, the need for multiple reoperations, antibiotic regimen, or length of stay for these patients was not adversely affected by this association.
