The impact of intravenous alteplase on long-term patient survival: The Georgia Coverdell acute stroke registry's experience

Ido MS, et al. – The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of thrombolytic treatment by alteplase on 1–year mortality and readmission among acute ischemic stroke patients. Intravenous alteplase was correlated with the reduction in long–term mortality after accounting for patient differences and missing value. The authors recommended that patients who were identified as being eligible for intravenous alteplase needed to be given the therapy.
