The impact of intrauterine and extrauterine weight gain in premature infants on later body composition

de Pipaon MS, et al. - The upshot of intrauterine and early/late extrauterine growth was comprehensively analyzed on later insulin resistance and body composition, in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants from 6 months’ corrected age (CA) to 36 months. The findings shed light on the connection between the catch-down growth in terms of weight with persistently lower adiposity, with the exception of insulin resistance up to 36 months of age.
