Jensen MV, Broadley M, Speight J, et al. - The family members of adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes experienced a severe negative influence of hypoglycemia on different aspects of their lives, including daily living, personal relationships and emotional well-being. 

• MEDLINE, PsycINFO, CINAHL and Cochrane Library were explored to find relevant data.

• PRISMA and ENTREQ guidelines were followed.

• Six analytical themes emerged by analyzing eight qualitative studies.

• Family members had unmet needs and they felt the influence of hypoglycemia as a major recurrent challenge in their lives.
