The Impact of Female Chronic Pelvic Pain Questionnaire (IF-CPPQ): A validation study
Clinical Journal of Pain Jun 13, 2019
Al-Abbadey M, et al. - Researchers examined the Impact of Female Chronic Pelvic Pain Questionnaire (IF-CPPQ) for its validity, reliability, and factor structure. In this cross-sectional questionnaire study that was administered online, 969 eligible women (who had to have experienced chronic pelvic pain for a minimum of 6 months and be at least 18 years of age) participated. The IF-CPPQ was the main outcome measure. They also administered additional validated measures that assessed related constructs. The factor structure of the IF-CPPQ was evaluated using principal axis factor analysis. Cronbach α was used to evaluate internal consistency. Pearson correlations between factor scores were used on the IF-CPPQ and measures of related constructs to determine convergent and discriminant validity. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to assess the consistency and model fit of the resulting factor structure. Five factors (Psychological Impact, Sexual Impact, Relationship Impact, Occupational Impact, and Emotional Impact) were included in the final 26-item questionnaire. Findings support the reliability and validity of the IF-CPPQ for measuring the impact of chronic pelvic pain on women.
