Jurisson M, et al. – This study estimated the effect of pre–fracture comorbidities on the 10–year excess risk of all–cause mortality following hip fracture among Estonian men and women ≥ 50 years of age. Among analyzed cases of hip fracture, it was noted that risk of excess death increased in the presence of pre–fracture comorbidities, although the comorbidity impact on aggregated excess mortality was modest.
