Aalund PK, et al. - The researchers examined the effect of age and preoperative health-related quality of life (HRQoL) on improvements in HRQoL after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Following THA, older patients had more improvements in HRQoL outcomes, contrary to the expectations. A high preoperative HRQoL appeared to inhibit improvements in HRQoLs after THA.
