Liu S, et al. - Acquired thrombocytopenia is associated with an increased risk of adverse events of patients with acute coronary syndrome. In this current study, its long-term prognostic significance was investigated in patients who underwent elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). An independent association of acquired thrombocytopenia was shown, with long-term adverse outcomes. Baseline creatinine clearance, baseline platelet count, and diabetes mellitus history were identified as predictors of thrombocytopenia.
