The impact of 10-valent and 13-valent Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines on hospitalization for pneumonia in children: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Alicino C, et al. - This study analyzed available data on the efficacy of Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) formulations protecting against 10 (PCV10) and 13 (PCV13) in attenuating the incidence of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) hospitalizations in children aged <5 years. Findings revealed that PCV10 and PCV13 markedly attenuated hospitalizations ascribed to pneumonia, specifically in children aged <24 months and in cases with radiologically confirmed disease.
