Amat F, et al. - This trial aspired to correlate the genetic variants of asthma candidate genes with the phenotypes of early onset wheezing. It was inferred that the link between the TT-genotype of IL-4 rs2070874 polymorphism and a severe phenotype of viral-induced wheeze highlighted the role of IL-4 in the inflammation pathway giving rise to viral respiratory infections.
