The ideal total hip replacement bearing surface in the young patient: A prospective randomized trial comparing alumina ceramic-on-ceramic with Ceramic-on-conventional Polyethylene: Fifteen-year follow-up

Atrey A, et al. - This study was performed to determine the optimum bearing surface for Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA). This work demonstrated that two bearing groups ie, ceramic on ceramic (CoC) or Ceramic on Polyethylene (CoP), afforded comparable survivorship and function; while the polyethylene wear and osteolysis may represent issues in the future.
