International Journal of Dermatology Jun 19, 2018
Sagoe D, et al. - Experts gauged the global lifetime prevalence and correlates of skin bleaching. As per data, the practice of skin bleaching was identified as a serious global public health issue. Appropriate public health interventions should be used to address this issue. Findings suggested an association of the highest significant prevalences with: males, topical corticosteroid use, Africa, persons aged ≤30 years, individuals with only primary school education, urban or semiurban residents, patients, data from 2010–2017, dermatological evaluation and testing-based assessment, random sampling methods, and moderate quality studies.
