The genetic basis for most patients with pustular skin disease remains elusive

British Journal of Dermatology Aug 09, 2017

Mossner R, et al. – This paper resolved to comprehend the disease–relevance of genes IL36RN, CARD14 and AP1S3 in patients with pustular skin disease, primarily generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP). It was illustrated that the detection of IL36RN mutation carriers harboring additional rare variants in CARD14 or AP1S3, suggested a more complex mode of inheritance of pustular psoriasis. Additional disease–causing genetic factors were recommended in heterozygous IL36RN mutation carriers, outside IL36RN.
