Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Oct 01, 2020
Zhong Y, Huang L, Chen Y, et al. - Researchers used a large Chinese cohort to investigate whether intense pulsed light can be an efficacious treatment option for Becker's nevus. In this retrospective analysis, they analyzed 45 patients, including 26 men and 19 women, aged 5‐42 years. Over 75% improvements in pigmentation and hair density in 1 and 2 cases, respectively, was achieved by treatments with intense pulsed light. In one case, 51%‐75% reductions in hair density was evident. In the remaining patients, experts noted ≤ 50% improvements in pigmentation and hair density. Within 6 months following the last treatment, all patients suffered recurrence. Findings demonstrated that long‐term benefits for Becker's nevus were not offered by intense pulsed light.
