Su S, et al. - Through randomized controlled trials, a systemic review, and meta-analysis, the contributors sought to determine the menatetrenone efficacy and safety in management of osteoporosis. Menatetrenone was found out more effective than placebo in improving lumbar bone mineral density (BMD) through pool analyses but also, increased the incidence of adverse events and drug reactions. Furthermore, significant decrease in undercarboxylated osteocalcin was noted, improvement in lumbar BMD in osteoporotic patients might be noticed. Although, beneficial effects in fracture risk control were unresolved.
