Raygan F, et al. - Researchers here evaluated the effects of vitamin D plus probiotic intake on mental health parameters and metabolic status in diabetic people with coronary heart disease (CHD). In this work, vitamin D and probiotic co-supplementation had beneficial effects on mental health parameters, serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), plasma nitric oxide (NO), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), glycemic control and HDL-cholesterol levels. Thereby demonstrating vitamin D and probiotic co-supplementation as efficacious in improving psychological symptoms and metabolic status in CHD patients.
