The effects of TNF-alpha inhibitor therapy on the incidence of infection in JIA children: A meta-analysis

Nagy A, et al. - In this meta-analysis, data from Medline via PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library databases were estimated to examine the observed infections in Juvenile Idiopathic arthritis (JIA) (most common chronic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology in childhood) kids during tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha inhibitor treatment. A sum of 1434 subjects was given TNF-alpha inhibitor therapy whereas they included 696 candidates in the control group. They observed the prevalent risk of infection in the active treatment group and the majority of infections were upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs).
