Nabhani Z, et al. - The effects of synbiotic supplementation on insulin, lipid profile and antioxidative status were evaluated among women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Physicians discovered no effect of synbiotic supplementation on fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and insulin resistance/sensitivity indices in these women. Lipid profile and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) status could be affected by synbiotic supplementation. For reducing blood pressure in women with GDM, synbiotic was found to be effective.
